How Do You Choose The Right Chiropractor?

Insurance, HMO, Relief Care Chiropractors

Unfortunately, the main purpose of today's health insurance industry is not to improve overall health, correct problems, or to prevent health problems in the future. Instead, insurance has been designed for the short term relief of recent illnesses, injury, and disease.

Insurance companies, especially HMO's, set a limit on how often you can be seen in a chiropractic office. This is done in order to cut costs. Though this makes insurance more affordable it does not make it possible to provide appropriate quality or the full amount of care needed for you and your family. In order to help you and your family, we have decided to not participate in your HMO or to make further accommodations to help your family afford the care you need.

The insurance, HMO, relief care chiropractors establish your length of care and amount of treatment by your symptoms, insurance company, and/or how often they are permitted to see you. Though it seems like an advantage, because it will lower your cost and your treatment time, you are in reality wasting your time and money. Though you may find short-term relief, your spine and Central Nerve System are left uncorrected and your health isn't any better than when you began your care. With this type of temporary care, your condition may even worsen. Research shows that if your spine and Central Nerve System are kept in an improper position they will continue to deteriorate, allowing organs to malfunction, and become diseased. With temporary care, you may not recognize that this deterioration is taking place, due to the lack of signs and symptoms.

"The body has an innate ability to heal itself. Western doctors are frozen in a disease-oriented mode, curing disease with drugs, surgery (or adjustments) rather than on prevention and stimulation of the body's natural healing power. Most treatments just prevent disease from expressing itself symptomatically. Symptoms disappear, but the disease actually gets progressively worse."

--Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D., Harvard University

Compared to the standard M.D., physical therapist or Osteopath, some chiropractors limit their practice to symptom relief only. By manipulation of the spine they free the spine from subluxation to minimize pain. They use an unnatural way of relaxing muscles by using electromagnetic currents like tens, ultra-sound and electric stimulation. (Unnatural electric energy entering into the cells of the body can destroy or cause mutation of the cells. These artificial currents may also interfere with the function of the heart and the other organs that work by electrical impulses).

"Electrical currents administered to the body have purely physical side effects of an undesirable nature. Most people who employ or promote electrical currents are either unaware of these effects or choose to ignore them".

Corrective Care Chiropractors

Corrective Care Chiropractors strive to correct your spine and Central Nerve System not only to eliminate symptoms, but to improve your health overall and prevent disease.

Your insurance, HMO, or PPO is not made to cover this kind of care due to the extent of time and visits it takes to reconstruct and correct the spine and Central Nerve System.

Frequency of adjustments and the duration of care are vital to improving the bone alignment in your spine, as is changing bone alignment in your mouth with braces. To eliminate subluxations in your spine it is important to use specific and highly developed techniques. Damage may be caused by infrequent visits or non-specific manipulative techniques. This will also cause no significant or permanent changes to be made in the spine.

All doctors want their patients to be free of pain. However, the focus of corrective care chiropractic is to eliminate all interference to the Central Nerve System caused by abnormal position of the spine. This can be done through a very specific rehabilitative program of spinal adjustments, stretches, and exercises that are unique for each patient.

Subluxation of the spine is what determines the frequency of visits and cost of care, not an insurance program. Re-examination and re-x-raying is what your results are based on, it is not on how you feel. This is the only way to provide you with true evidence on how you are progressing and if you are preventing future illnesses and disease.

By containing managed care cost, insurance is made affordable to you and/or your company. The majority of insurance plans, especially HMO/PPO insurance, are intended to pay for the cost of quick relief to a new strain, accident, or injury. Correction of long-term problems or the prevention of future health problems will not be covered by your insurance plan.
